Paladar La Colonial - Vinales

After a long journey exploring the caves of holy takes, our hunger led us to the village of Viñales, a charming street lined with colonial buildings and a growing number of restaurants catering to tourists. We stumbled upon a quaint place with tables on the porch overlooking the bustling street. Despite arriving just before closing time, the owner graciously offered us a selection of pasta dishes and salads. We opted for spaghetti bolognese and shrimp sauce, both delicious and generously portioned with plenty of cheese. Although we didn't have the full menu to choose from, we were satisfied with our meal and enjoyed watching the street life of Viñales, pleasantly free of flies and mosquitoes that day.

After an exhausting journey to the center of the earth in the Santo Tomás Caves, hunger had a tight grip on my stomach and refused to let go. So, we went to the little town of Viñales, which is nothing more than a beautiful street with colonial porches where an emerging restaurant sector has developed. Almost all the houses on the wide, colorful and bright street are dedicated to serving tourists, whether it be with souvenir shops, bars, or "paladares," which is what homemade and simple restaurants are called in Cuba. We found the one we are discussing in a great spot to watch the daily life of the street from its porch tables, so we grabbed a table with a view. By the time we arrived, the kitchen was about to close, so the owner could only offer us what was left - several pasta dishes with a choice of sauces and salads. The hunger continued to plague us, so we ordered spaghetti bolognese and shrimp with pasta (and these were big portions). The portions were large, with lots of cheese, served in deep plates and tasty. It was a shame not to have the full menu to choose from, because I'm sure the rest of it was just as good. I'm usually not one to enjoy eating outdoors because of flies and mosquitoes, but miraculously, there were none that day, so I enjoyed my meal with a view of life in Viñales.
