Kitchen At The Dovegate Inn

We decided to take a chance and walk in on a Saturday evening. The exterior is quite modest, but I'm really glad we did! The food was fresh and delicious, the wine selection was nice, and everything was reasonably priced. Our server was attentive and quick, though the food took a bit longer to arrive, but it was definitely worth the wait. Dovegate is truly a hidden gem!

This restaurant has a wonderful hometown atmosphere paired with sophisticated flavors. The chef honed his skills in Saratoga Springs and has brought that expertise to Schuylerville! I highly recommend it.

This was our second visit to this amazing restaurant, and we absolutely loved our dinner! We will definitely be coming back. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and the décor was delightful. The salads were outstanding, and the split pea soup was fantastic. We both ordered the pork, which came with delicious broccoli and potatoes. The wine served by the glass was superb and generously poured. This restaurant truly "punches above its weight!" Service: Dine-in.

We decided to give this restaurant a try after browsing the online menu, which had some enticing options. I even reached out to a local who mentioned she hadn’t been there in years but remembered it being quite good in the past. Unfortunately, the actual menu didn’t match what we saw online, and the food turned out to be rather average. In hindsight, I should have checked the Yelp reviews, as they seem outdated and don’t reflect any post-COVID dining experiences. While the portions were generous, prices were reasonable, and the service was friendly, it didn’t deliver the memorable dining experience we were hoping for. Given the lack of customers for a Saturday night, we realized it might not be the place we expected.
