Hoosick Falls may be a bit off the beaten path, but we decided to check out this restaurant since it was open on a Monday night, and we are so glad we did! The flounder I had was absolutely delicious—so tender and flavorful. My daughter's salmon was equally impressive, and we can't quite figure out how they prepared those vegetables, but they were incredibly tasty. The flavors in every dish were rich and authentic, truly capturing the essence of French cuisine. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a nostalgic 90s vibe complemented by smooth jazz and yacht rock. If you're craving some saxophone in your life, Bistro 42 is the place to go! During our visit from Albany to Bennington for lunch, a local gentleman—who also happened to be a scholar and historian—recommended that we explore the culinary scene in Hoosick. At the top of his list was Bistro 42’s food truck and restaurant. Trusting his knowledge of the area, we decided to support local businesses and give the food truck a try. If you're there, don't miss anything featuring mushrooms, and make sure to try the poutine—it's absolutely fantastic! Just a heads up: bring cash (and plenty of it), as this local treasure is worth every penny of your disposable income. Seriously, you won't regret it!
