The hostess sat us we asked to have a specific football game turned on and she said ok, five minutes later she asked if we knew the channel we told her. Meanwhile after 10 plus minutes no server came over we left. We may try the pizza to go next time we are in town.
Since an article came out on Step-Out Buffalo stating that Armor Inn had the Bozanna's pizza recipe, I had to get there and remember what childhood tasted like. That sounds weird, but Bozanna's has been gone for so long, and it reminds me of getting pizza with my parents and driving out to Clarence to pick up the pizza and then enjoying the monstrous pie with epic toppings. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it tastes like. I just remember it being delicious. A friend of a friend was playing Beatles music and we arrived at about 6pm on a Tuesday to listen. The outdoor patio under the tent is great. The service was also great. The prices are ridiculously high. The Bozanna's light pizza is $25 and the extra cheese and pepperoni is $28. Also, an order of fries is $7. What?! You can buy a couple bags of potatoes for that at the supermarket. That is why I gave this place 3 stars. Maybe it should have been 2 stars. My friend and I decided to get the $25 pizza. The pizza was good. The sauce was sweet and it was done perfectly. Would I come back for the pizza? Maybe if I were in the area. I wasn't that impressed to make the drive just for the pizza, but I would make the drive for the Beatles music.
My family has been asking me where to grab good, Buffalo style pizza. On a Saturday night, they wanted to a good dine in spot to grab a pizza, so I persuaded them to come to Armor Inn Tap Room to have the Bozanna 's pizza, and they were beyond impressed! Three of us arrived around 6:00pm on a Saturday and were able to find a parking spot in the large lot with ease, even with it filling up. We walked right in and were able to get a table outside, with an umbrella to help block the low sun. First time I 've been out on their patio and it was a perfect night with a comfy temp and little to no wind. Our waitress, Meagan, vibe d with our group 's energy and was fantastic. She was courteous, funny, prompt, and checked in on us regularly making sure we didn 't need/want anything, she made our whole dining experience better. She took our drink orders as we figured out which appetizer to get with the Bozanna 's pizza. Now, I tried to warn the group that we probably wouldn 't need an appetizer but they insisted None of us walked away hungry from the table this night. : We also got to listen to a one man band play classic rock on guitar for the last half of our meal, which wasn 't too loud so we could continue our conversation, so that was excellent. Onto the food! To start, we ordered the 716 Cauliflower appetizer Lightly fried cauliflower covered in Buffalo sauce, bleu cheese crumbles. Looking at the menu, it sounds like there was also supposed to be celery and a side of bleu cheese, which we didn 't get, but to be honest, the cauliflower on its own was more than enough. Each of us enjoyed this appetizer, but I mean, who wouldn 't like fried cauliflower covered in Buffalo sauce and bleu cheese. haha : But I would absolutely order this appetizer again though. For dinner, we ordered the Classic Bozanna pizza which their description says it all: Mozzarella and all that pepperoni. Just like you remember. I really appreciate how consistent Armor Inn has been with this pizza as I 've been here a few times now for this pizza and it hasn 't not met or exceeded my expectations yet. My previous review for Armor Inn Tap Room remains the same: The loads of mozzarella cheese, lots of savory red sauce, a literal ton of cup n char pepperoni on top, and a crunchy, buttery, slightly charred crust... Pure pizza bliss! The dough is definitely Buffalo style with it being on the more dense side and cooked perfectly. Each of the eight slices were hearty, dense, and greasy A perfect dinner on a rainy Saturday. Between the three of us, we were able to demolish this pie, though I carried the team with eating half of it on my own. haha Some people may balk at the price of this pizza, but we all agreed that this was a quality pizza worthy of it. Our meal, a few beers, our excellent waitress, and live music equals a great way to wind down our Saturday! I 'm slowly converting more family and friends to come to Armor Inn Tap Room and order the Classic Bozanna pizza, I know the family that came with me raved about it, so I have a feeling they 'll be back for more.
Omg! Bozano's pizza , loads of pepperoni, gooey cheese, chewy middle and crispy crust with perfect sauce! I'm in heaven! Add a cold beer , outdoor patio on a beautiful evening and a live band- what more can you ask for? Life is good.
Atmosphere: I've been here for showers (including my own) and wedding receptions about 3 5 years ago. The decor is pleasing and the character of the place is welcoming. They also have a really nice patio with table fire pits. Most recently I felt like it was a bit too loud during popular dining hours and I could see it being too noisy for some. But after all it is a tap room that often has live entertainment. Menu: It seems like it needs to be updated. The chicken finger sandwich didn't have the blue cheese as it's noted in its description. The menu states the sandwiches come with chips, and when I asked if I could have a different side they mentioned they all come with fries (no chips). For the porky potato there was no sour cream or butter, even though it states it in the menu. The potato did come with a side of slaw and beans, which wasn't written. Lots of discrepancies between the menu and the dishes. Service: Salt and pepper weren't brought to the table. We had a table of seven and it took about a good 10 minutes before everyone had their plates from the time the food started coming out. Two people in our party had a salad as their first course. One person's salad came 5 10 minutes before the other person's, even though they both ordered it at the same time. Some of the plates were missing items one rib dinner was served without the corn and corn fritter and another without the corn. The steak dinner was served without the broccolini. And like I mentioned before, my chicken finger sandwich was missing the blue cheese. There was also a problem when checking out with the separate checks (yes, we were a pain). The server cashed out the wrong bill for the wrong person. It took awhile for this to be fixed. (The person that paid didn't know that this happened and had already left). Taste: Decent flavor, but nothing I would rave about. Prices: Affordable and decent portions. The specials for Local Restaurant week seemed to be a great deal. One was for a full rack of ribs with a bunch of sides and choice of soup or salad. Overall I was far from impressed. I hate to see such a great location not be on par with service. I also feel that the menu and food could use some tweaking. Hopefully the Armor Inn is working on improving both.
