Island Taste - Village of Freeport

I ordered a large oxtail for $23, and while I didn't mind the butter beans, there was hardly any meat in the dish. The rice and peas were bland and lacked flavor. As for the spinach in the oxtails, I have to ask—really? The only thing I've enjoyed so far is their beef patties. This was my first time visiting after passing by this place for over ten years, and I kind of wish I had kept on walking.

The lady who runs this place is incredibly nice, and she offers amazing sauces that range from sweet and mild to spicy. I was truly impressed by how delicious the chicken is and how well it pairs with the hot sauce.

The food was decent, but not very flavorful. It might have been because we ordered takeout towards the end of the day. I personally prefer Chef Elvis's Caribbean cuisine, which is just down the street.

This restaurant has the best Caribbean food in the area. Consistent, friendly, family run resteraunt.
