The sausages were practically tasteless and the service was painfully slow. They don't have half the food on their menu. Poor servers! When we went to dinner, there were 3 servers for 25 tables. The place is sweet and a great location. Hopefully it's just a lump, and it'll be the same as it used to be.
I wasn't hungry, I just killed time before I met my group to get back to the car. I chose a desert, ice cream with whisky.
The beauty is that it is opened all day. However, food is on average even a notch underneath. My cheese and the prosciutto sandwich came with ham instead of the prosciutto I had ordered. I pointed this out to the waiter who took it back into the kitchen and quickly returned to my joy... until I tasted and realized that my hot sandwich with melted cheese had cold prosciutto in it. They had simply changed the ham for the prosciutto without even heating it. The hamburger and the pommes of my husband were also not very good... a prefabricated Hamburgerpatty. Your apple strudel was pretty good. Maybe only Desserts would be my recommendation if you went there.
It is a traditional restaurant with some German dishes. It has an orchestra enjoy some evenings and locals of a certain age. Not bad, but there are better possibilities nearby.
I prefer to sit outside so you can watch people go by the main drag in Villa General Belgrano. The restaurant has quite a few tables both inside and outside so you're always have a good chance to get one. I have been there without making a reservation every time. On certain evenings there is a band playing German music with players dressed in lederhosen and couples have a go at dancing. They have local artesanal beers and quite a lot of German dishes. If in the Villa a must try.
