Aldebaran - Villa basilica

We drove up and up and up on a wet winter night but it was worth it and I will do the drive again. Fantastic food and wine, great fun, wonderful staff who are friendly. If you visit Lucca and want a great pizza, this is the place to visit.

We went to the restaurant by car. After finding the restaurant (which was a bit of a search) we went in and were seated by the friendly staff. There was no menu available and the staff didn't speak english so we had to order pizza just by instinct. Be sure to think of what you want on top of your pizza before you go....because everything is possible as long as you tell them what you want. Pizzas are served in a few minutes because of the thin bottom. It was delicious! So....go....and think what you want to have before you go.....you'll have the best pizza!

On indication of friends we came to try to eat, classic Tuscan-lucchese menu with stuffed meat ragù tordelli as only to lucca know to do, and a lasagne with fabulous wild boar, excellent risotto with local porcini mushrooms, seconds like the wild boar in salmì and the roast rabbit that is a surprise for goto and tenderness, abundant scales a nonsense. finally the surprise of a light story: on the head including the covered and the wine of the house starting from an appetizer of meat and cheeses to dessert. add that in addition to the restaurant have the farm with the adjacent space where we can buy honey, jams, syrups and a fabulous oil.

We dined in this restaurant, pampered by dora that recommended their specialties. good food and abundant dishes. The pizza is gigantic, even a fight eater to finish it. pizzaiolo is seen that it is accustomed to exaggerating delicious and homemade desserts. We'll be back
