Visiting Vicius was a great experience! Dishes were very good, service was even better, and the atmosphere is good. Great value-for-money. Would definitely visit again and therefore recommend it!
We decided to eat inside and headed for the rear of the restaurant and the room is very quirky sort of semi modern museum of kitchen things! The menu has local dishes on offer and the gazpacho was really really excellent. Lovely service from friendly staff.
I always liked this restaurant, it was always one of the better more exclusive restaurants. We ordered mains only, with a bottle of house wine. The wine was excellent. My Iberian pork was very good, but the smallest portion that I have ever had in the Algarve. The slice of orange could have had the centre core removed, if the chef cared. It was served with a very unique salad. Dried wilted lettuce (it appeared to have come out of a bag), with coriander leaves, some of which were also wilted and yellow in colour, all topped with dried fried onions, seriously. There was a bit of 'fresh ' tomato ', tasteless. The best part was the fried, unpeeled potatoes. Why can 't the chef or his staff peel the potatoes? Are they too lazy?. This restaurant has dropped its standards through the floor. I won 't be recommending it or going back in the future. The waiter saw the peeled potatoes and untouched salad on my plate. He did not ask if we had enjoyed the meal. I am of the opinion that he knew better.
