Rifugio Fronza Alle Coronelle

We went to this place coming from an hike along the mountain Rosengarten. Food is great and typical from Dolomiti. Everting is homemade. Desserts are special. Location is AMAZING!!! The landscape is …speechless…. After first time we returned again ad again.

I really wanted to try the shredded pancakes (kaiserschmarrn) and they had the best of the different rifugios I tried with pieces of fresh apple baked in! The staff was very friendly and the decor was the cutest of all the rifugios we stayed at. We had a room for four though there were only two of us. They had large sinks for washing out clothing and a drying room. They did not have the heater on and my clothes were not dry the next day though they were quick-dry. This did happen at every rifugio of our stay. I think it was the cool moist air of early September. This was a great starting point for the Santner ferrata and we were able to beat the long line of people coming up the lift so we didn't move slowly on the ferrata. This rifugio had the least interesting views from our trip but again we loved the decor, staff, and food!

We arrived at the refuge from a violent storm, and without a reservation. Although we were soaked right through and leaving pools of water over the floor we were given a very friendly welcome and looked after most kindly by our hosts. Our room for the night was charming, with a fabulous view of the spectacular sunrise. Thank you also for the excellent food and the good advice regarding our plans for the next day's hike!

The new ski lift gondola now takes you right to the top. There is still some construction ongoing with the platform, arriving/departure area etc., but they were very busy working on it. So you can easily reach this place. We just sat outside in the morning sunshine enjoying a cup of coffee. At first the service was attentive, but when we wanted to pay it was impossible to find someone. In the end we did succeed.The view however is absolutely amazing.

Classico rifugio di montagna, semplice ed accogliente, offre un panorama spettacolare dai tavoli all’aperto. I piatti sono molto buoni ed a prezzi adeguati. Servizio molto cordiale ed efficiente.
