Contribuiți la feedbackThe En restaurant caught my eye as I always walk by when attending to business downtown. So this week I finally had time to actually sit down and have a meal. I agree with other raters, it is a busy yet very nicely quiet place and I enjoyed my food very much. I had the Tokusen menu which consists of various sorts of sushi, sashimi and Maki and includes salmon teriyaki, rice and pickled vegetables. All in all a nice experience.
Food was OK, had sushi, seaweed salad and noodles for our son. Service was good, great with children and place was busy but quiet.
In the past we quite liked this restaurant, based on recommendation from a Japanese friend. But it is no longer good - it all tastes very normal, somewhere around akakiko level. We won't come there any more.
"Place smells heavily of old cooking oil, the sushi-san looks, well... bored, no customary shoot-out greeting. Food was average at best. Sushi's are paper thin etc."I fully agree with the comments quoted above. Most reviews were good so I went there twice (thought my first impression could have been wrong) but was also disappointed twice.Food not authentic at all and especially the service/friendliness is in no way Japanese. Rude waitress.
This small restaurant in a silent part of downtown is trying very hard to be authentic. Unfortunately the kitchen lets the rest of the restaurant down. Take it from me: The quality is below average and faaaaar from Japanese standards. There are significantly better Japanese restaurants in Vienna.
