Contribuiți la feedbackWe ate here last week whilst staying overnight at Macanet de la Selva. True Spanish hospitality with food to die for !! Not a tourist in sight, albeit November !!. They did have an English menu, so guess in season we might not have been the only foreigners. The menu del temporada was not translated into English, so a little understanding of the language would have saved you missing some real delights. Not everybodys cup of tea I know, but the Steak Tartare beat any french restaurant I have eaten in. The fish soup came in a huge bowl, was enough for four, and we were only two!! We didn't send any back to the kitchen though !! Thank you so much, a real family restaurant that cares- mucho gracias. HIGHLY RECOMENDED
Service below average. Personnel smoking and chatting in a tabbenext to ours. Restaurant was almost emptt but we had to wait +1h for our food. After we were told that 15mins more, it was 40min wait. Pizza you het much better ones in Finland.
A family run hotel and restaurant for generations, it really is a hidden treasure, just over the border of la Jonquera from France, a fabulous over night stop on our trip down to southern Spain, we were welcomed like members of the family, the food is absolutely exquisite, the service is fantastic, a beautiful terrace to enjoy in the summer months and a traditional restaurant inside as the seasons change, but don't expected ultra modern, if that's what you are looking for this is not for you, but if you are looking for a true Catalonian experience then you will feel at home, the rooms are enormous for the price, spotlessly clean, incredibly confortable beds, modernised bathrooms Italian style showers, and everything from soap to shampoo to shower gel! Wonderfully soft towels, wifi, tv, and so very peaceful, the secure undercover parking was a huge plus for us. And we stayed both on our trip down to Southern Spain, and on our return to France, having grown up in Spain it was very much like visiting family, don't forget to look at the photos in the restaurant, yes that is frank Sinatra with the current owners grand father in 1950! Oh the history and the stories those walls hold! The price point is more than reasonable (cost of meal is separate) but most definitely worth eating there, their chef is a magician ! The waitress was always smiling and very polite! An asset to the business. And the wife and husband team work so so hard, if really is admirable! We look forward to coming back for years to come. The last week of august is the local fiestas, so if that's something your interested in, book in advance! An all round wonderful place to stay. Xxx
