Good place for a meal if you want Route 66 Diner vibe. Solid menu, some surprises. Steaks are cooked on a garden grill. Great taste. Had the T-Bone on Special. No thick steak, but I was full. Better than some other diners in the area. Attention a plus.
Friendly and attentive servers. The food was hot, waiting for my food didn't take long. The portions were filled. I've dined alone and there were about $30 25 for food a $5 tip.
The exemplary service could take off the meal, only barely. Rebecca was wonderful and she took my criticism well. I ordered the T-Knochen special at $23 and Mrs. ordered the half chicken dinner $15. My side was Clam Chowder and green beans, it is the mixed vegetables. My Chowder, the last bowl, came cool. The server (not Rebecca) should have noticed immediately. A **** and I sent her back when Rebecca checked us. I heard her comment on the server, the bowl wasn't even hot and she didn't take it out. It came back a few minutes later (I heard it was microwave) and proved to be tasty. A little thicker than I like (imagine thick white engraving), but delicious. Both sides of vegetables, great! Mushy green beans (yes, we like the can), mixed vegetables were three color paprika, delicious grilled, zucchini, onion and tomatoes. The biscuit is also grilled. Our duck, not so much. The chicken wasn't half a chicken, but cut up. I'm sure there's half a chicken, just not well presented. It was rubbery, a light gray, not desirable. My T-bone, the class wasn't what I expected. Maybe choose? Stringy, hard and worst, it had this Petrolgrill starter taste. I ate the fillet side, which should be much softer than the strip side, but unfortunately no. I finished 3/4 uneaten and said Rebecca she should not recommend it. We finished with the deep apple cake and chocolate cake, both well made and presented. Delicious! Decor, 50's taste and aging. Really, as it was done in the 50s! Some chipping on the stalls, stump dense in the pillow, some peeling color. Clean, present, weathered. Great complaint, no paper towels in the men's bathroom. Empty. Nada. I wonder how many times they check the bathrooms. Our bill was $65, left $15 tip. There are more well-known brands on the street outback, Texas Roadhouse that I know could offer a better value. I wanted to give the locals a way, but Richie's likes a chain. So my intentions were inferior. Go for the pages and dessert. Maybe stick to their burgers? It won't come back.
