While visiting the Royal Museum, we decided to have lunch at the "Food Truck Festival" being put on in the Museum's back courtyard. The Love Perogy was part of the assembly and the meal was very good. I had the chili perogy.
Victoria has this lovely event, now extended year-round, called the Food Truck Festival. It takes place directly behind the Royal BC Museum and usually has any number of food trucks taking part, some of whom have become "full time residents." One of those trucks is The Love Perogy. Now, notwithstanding the genius of having food trucks stationed directly behind a major tourist attraction, it needs to be duly mentioned that all of them are good in their own right -- offering visitors and locals alike a plethora of wonderful choices. The Love Perogy, for its part, offers a variety of absolutely amazing perogies (obviously) and mini burgers, which are also house-made. At first glance, you might think the prices are a little steep, but once you taste the food you'll recognize excellent value for money -- the mini burgers and perogies are just to die for! The Love Perogy also has some special dishes; for instance, their "perogy poutine" -- you can't get much more Canadian than that!An absolutely amazing place and definitely one of the best food trucks I've had the privilege of trying!Food: 5/5Service: 5/5Value: 5/5Recommendation: Big thumbs up!
Perogy, meat, egg, and bacon-HUGE-on a fresh bun. It was around $6 US. Could barely finish it. Didn't eat again for 8 hrs. Right in back of the Victoria Museum
We came out of the Victoria Museum, and wanted something fast but not McDonald's like. Around back there were four food trucks. I bought meals for my wife, two kids, and myself. The food was really very good. Perogies and small burger for the kids, burger and perogies for me, and poutine perogies for my wife. All the perogies came with fried onions, bacon bits, and sour cream. I would highly recommend for people to try this. The owner is really friendly and helpful too.
