Excellent service. Sushi was fresh. The koi fish pond is cool to look at. People are always friendly here.
Are they still open? Went by at dinner time twice and no one there. Doors locked and no note. No one answers their phone.
In the beginning Koto was one of several authentic Japanese restaurants along Westheimer. Everything was exceptional. Place clean. The owner sold it a few years back and the quality went through the floor. If one wants authentic with quality, Sasaki!
Dined in on a Tuesday at 1:00 pm for a party of two and was seated immediately. There was a very strong odor that hit me in my nostrils when i opened the door. It could be the open Koi fish pond inside the restaurant. Their menu is extensive but quality was just ok. We ordered: Shrimp tempura: the batter is not my favorite but it was crispy Kani sunomono: good flavors Tempura hand roll: the shrimp went all the way to the end of the hand roll, which is rare. Skinny shrimp but was good. Spider hand roll: the crab went all the way down to the hand roll, so i had a bite of crab in each nibble. Very good. Tuna tartar: lease favorite, the wonton chips were one minute from getting stale. The tuna didn't have any flavor. Chopped scallop nigiri: it had an odd spice in it, not the best Unagi nigiri: good
