Massimo Gusto - VICENZA

Vicenza offers a lot of restaurants but this one is kind of special. We didn’t get a menu but the owner and the chef – Massimo just came to us and stated what we are going to eat this night! This was a brilliant choice of seafood and fish completed with verdure fritta. Everything very fresh and tasty. The hit of the dinner were local clams named Cappalunga. Must try it whenever served by Massimo.

We went here on recommendation; the restaurant is just at the edge of the center and looks from outside not inviting, but inside has a nice atmosphere. The food is very good typical Venetian fish plates (raw fish and crustaceans), but also other fish plates can be ordered.

We were recommended this restaurant by our host, another restauranteur. It's on the river bank, with very elegant decor and a nice ambience. It is a seafood place specialising in Veneto region produce and had many locals eating there. The staff were very attentive and friendly, full of good advice and recommendations. The food was gorgeously presented and matched by taste and refinement. I had oysters, which were lovely and being a spoilt Australian used to exceptional oysters I'm fussy! The wine selection is good and again the staff were helpful guides. A delightful way to spend a relaxing afternoon with all the things you look for in a good restaurant.
