Al Campanile - VICENZA

This is traditional Venetian osteria where you can drink an “ombra” or a “goto” of good wine. They offer a good choice of local, Italian and International wines and some local cheeses and cold cuts. Everything in a friendly and very traditional atmosphere. If you are local here you are at home; if you are foreigner here you become Venetian.

Wandering around Vicenza center we stop by here for a glass of wine (ombra de vin) and a Spritz. It is very typical place with a good wine selection of local grapes. Very good sandwiches and crostini with baccalà. Very small place.

Friendly owner and friendly prices! Walk in or sit at one of the barrels on the sidewalk and you may be the only English speaking customer. Could it get any better? Good prices, good service, good atmosphere. Nothing fancy. Get a spritz Aperol or a glass of wine, maybe even a little panino. They do small pours, too, just in case you want to hop around. Definitely a favorite in our neighborhood! Our dogs even like sitting on the sidewalk while we sip on merlot. The owner reminds me of a surfer. Can you tell I was drinking a glass of wine while enjoying this bar? Oh yeah, they have some craft beers, too.
