La Familia - Viana do Castelo

After a late arrival in the town we popped into La Familia for a quick, light supper. All was well, food good, and service reasonably prompt. A couple of days later we decided to go back for a lunch on the move. Unfortunately, the young waiter was far more interested in his phone than his customers. My wife’s salad appeared in 15 mins after which there was an achingly long 30 minute wait for my Club sandwich (incidentally, fine when it arrived). But it contained all pre prepared material so there can be no explanation for the delay other than that the waiter fluffed the order. Which is a shame: the place is genuinely different to all of the other small cafes in town but if it can’t be more consistent in its delivery, I don’t see a long term future for it.

Really nice cafe. Good choice of food including lovely salads. Service was very good. Food took quite a long time to arrive but worth it.

Ein schönes Café/Bistro mit entspannter Atmosphäre und nettem Personal. wir sind hier am Nachmittag angekommen, haben eine kleine gegessen und waren sehr zufrieden.

Really nice caffe. good selection of food, among them beautiful salads. service was very good. the food took a very long time to come, but it was worth it.

Wonderful place both for light dinner and breakfast. We did both. Loved it all. And if the owners/staff showed a little smile, it would then be 100%.
