Captain D's - Vestavia Hills

I enjoyed the fish I picked up today, it was hot and tasted good. my only problem could have been the long waiting period until my food comes out, but the young lady who brought it out was very polite and apologise for the long waiting period. I thought that was nice of her.

This captain D’s is located at montgomery hwy in vestavia. eating is very cheap; they give senior discounts, have delicious combos for 4.99 and as VIP member they can earn reward points with each visit. if the points add, they get a free dessert or another perk to be a VIP member. I just came from another great visit to Captain D’s! rodrick waited for me on the way and he was so pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating that I told him he needed an increase. he explained to me that the VIP membership was now via email rewards. I told him I received an email reward and was there to get my dessert with my meal. he offered me a drink while I waited. I told him I would definitely be back to see him!

My car broke down there. While waiting for help, I ordered a bowl of rubber and a sweet tea. The food was great! These ladies kept an eye on me and made sure I was all right. Thank you. In today's world you just don't know! I'm glad someone was watching it for me.

Service was friendly. It had been since before the pandemic that I actually had eaten here. Hush puppies were good, but the fish was thinner than I remember. Use to be nearly twice the size. There was no condiment pumps that use to be there, and I had to open 12 small packs of ketchup to eat with when the pump dispenser or a bottle would have been a lot quicker and convenient.

The food here was either great here when I was a kid or I just had bad taste buds. It has been 3 years since I?ve last entered Captain D?s, and traveling to Alabama for the first time in a while gave me the opportunity to come back here. When I entered with my family, we placed our orders, though everything was like above 1,200 calories. Never noticed it, but seeing those numbers was just insane to me. It?s not really relevant, though I wonder really how they?re serving their foods baked in 10 layers of oil. The employee taking our order looked unhappy and unsettled. I ordered the Lobster Rolls, which, to be fair, were quite decent if I?m trying to be nice, with having mac cheese, the mac cheese was good but not as good as it used to be. I felt as if the food lost quality over the pandemic, resulting in the poor state it is now. The tables looked a bit messy, and the bathrooms were clean for the most part. There were a couple of nicer workers, though I probably won?t ever eat here again.
