Great decor, great food, nice serving team, there you are not in a restaurant but at home with friends ! GREAT PLACE TO BE !
Our driver/guide suggested this establishment as it was out of the way for tourists and yet near the Palace at Versailles. A very nice exterior on a quiet street led to an equally nice restaurant. Our guide spoke to the Matre d’ who showed us to a good interior table. My wife, who speaks some French and our guide ordered lunch. After a small salad we were served home made foie gras. Delicious with a white wine. That’s when the wheels seemed to fall off our lunch. We had ordered pan fried scallops and although we were among the first patrons who had entered the restaurant; others, virtually everyone else, was served without any evidence of our entrée. I fear that someone must have heard me speaking English; probably exclaiming about the excellent foie gras. Our guide spoke to the manager and we were told there would be a delay of a “few” minutes. About fifteen minutes later, the scallops arrived. Outstanding. Just outstanding. Perfectly prepared. When we finished dining, our guide excused himself and again spoke Matre d’. The conversation while in low tones and now an almost empty restaurant, led me to believe that a protest had been made. When I received the check, I saw a credit for one glass of wine; so, point apparently made. A word of warning to stout customers. There are no first-floor rest rooms. The facility is reached by navigating a very narrow circular staircase. Speak French only there. Have a good meal.
Excellent restaurant or a treat for eyes and mouth
