I was coming off a long road trip. I was very hungry and wanted some good home cooking. For a supposed home cooking place like this, it seems like they could do better on their sides. The main meal comes with two sides and there are only four options mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw,baked apples, and I forgot one other. A side salad that you see in the photo cost me two dollars extra and it was the smallest side salad I never seen. I ordered liver and onions, which in itself was very good except the liver was literally a little over a quarter of an inch thick. That made it a little bit chewy and dry. The gravy mashed potatoes was great. Later I saw on like a chalkboard specials of the day and they had lima beans on that but it wasn’t on the menu so I asked to add that and they were very good. The only reason I’m giving them a three out of four or five is because, the side salad was so small that they charged me two more dollars and that the liver was so skinny and a little chewy. The waitress that was at the counter had short hair kind of sandy blonde and wore glasses. She was kind of short with me, and a gentleman came in to order some chili and she flat out told him no he couldn’t do that. He wanted enough chili to feed 12 and she told him that wasn’t enough time that he needed 24 hours ahead and he said well I’m gonna pick it up tomorrow at the same time which is 24 hours and she said no that’s not enough time. Another waitress heard her and said, let me ask the cook in the cook said yes. How rude is that so that’s why they’re getting a three instead of a four.
