Lowood Chinese Restaurant - Vernor

I went to this restaurant with my family and we were very disappointed with our experience. The utensils were sticky and dirty, so we had to clean them ourselves. The plates were also dirty, with oil smears and unknown bits of dried food stuck to them. The chicken wings tasted like pre-prepared country fried chicken that had been coated and frozen. The steamed dim sum was so tough that it felt like it could bounce off the walls. I have never encountered a steamed dish with such a tough and cardboard-like exterior, followed by a bright pink rubbery center. At that point, we decided to leave without finishing our meal, as we didn't want to risk our health. There were only two other customers in the restaurant, who seemed more like regulars at the bar with their large bottles of spirits and liqueurs. The owner, who was also the cook, was sitting there and occasionally running to the kitchen. In my opinion, this place should be shut down.

We have been there twice. The first time we dined in and my husband thought the food was good but I did not. More recently, we ordered to go and neither of us ate very much as the food was bland and terrible. Cannot recommend.

We have both dined in at this restaurant and utilized their takeout service. When dining in, we were well taken care of and the food selection was excellent. When ordering takeout, we called ahead and our order was ready quickly and the food was fresh and delicious.

Its honestly a hit n miss I have have more bad meals than good but when its good it's great but when its bad it's horrible n in my oppion they are too expensive too not have brilliant food

After asking around Lowood about the restaurant, we received mostly negative answers, with many saying they only buy takeaway because they think the restaurant is dirty. Despite this, we decided to give it a try and found that although the floor could use a good vacuuming, everything else appeared clean. We peeked into the kitchen and saw that it was also clean, so a group of eight of us decided to dine in. We ordered Banquet number 1 and found it to be delicious. The service was quick and the staff were very friendly. We were the only ones dining in, with many people coming in for takeaways.
