Wendy's - Vernon

The interior could use a little more cleaning, and the soda machine felt a bit sticky. But then again, it is fast food. The restrooms are reasonably clean. I absolutely love the Bacon Double Junior Cheeseburger with tomato and cheesy cheddar—it's amazing! Overall, when it comes to fast food chains, Wendy's is my favorite.

Interestingly, almost the entire staff speaks Tagalog. This reminded me of my experiences in Pampanga, where my spouse is from, as I visit there every year. Once I realized this, I figured I just needed to exercise the same patience I have when dining in Pampanga. I made sure to check that my order was right. For those who travel to Luzon and Visayas annually like I do, you understand the cultural differences that can be present in restaurants. It brought a smile to my face and made me feel like I was on vacation with my spouse all over again. The staff was friendly, and I can only imagine how many locals might lose their cool due to these cultural nuances. Also, they have one of those soda fountains with a plethora of flavors. I was thrilled to find Mello Yello in Canada for the first time in nearly twenty years! So, definitely order a large soda and enjoy those unlimited refills—try them all! Overall, I'm glad I visited Wendy's today. That's 113 eateries down, about 50 more to go! Vegetarian options: Fries, soda, Frosty.

I enjoyed a Cobb salad paired with the new Blueberry Pomegranate lemonade, and I have to say, the lemonade was just right for the hot weather. I'm usually not a big fan of lemonade, but this one really hit the spot! The salad was fresh and delicious too. There’s plenty of parking, the service was friendly, and the restaurant was clean.

Aside from the time I received a coupon for a meal because my order was incorrect, I've never had an accurate order at this location. I thought they might have improved since then, but I was mistaken. It seems like it’s best to write down your order, or else you’ll just get whatever they decide to give you. Wendy's, you can do better—please retrain your staff.

I ordered a Dave's Single combo at the drive-thru. The food was incredibly fresh, including the vegetables; however, the burger was only lukewarm. This seems consistent with the Westbank location, which also serves Wendy's burgers at a similar temperature. As for parking, I parked across the street in the Canadian Tire lot, which offers plenty of shade and space.
