Van's Sushi Cafe - Vernon Hills

I love Vans! They primarily serve tuna and salmon, and their spring rolls are fantastic with a delicious sauce. The owners are very friendly. You can choose between pick-up or delivery, and it's all very affordable!

This is a fantastic little spot to pick up a to-go order on your way home. I tried the avocado roll and the miso soup, and they were both delicious!

Excellent value! The nigiri combo, with 8 pieces for just $15, is a must-try. The fish quality is decent, while the rolls are average, but the Tuesday specials are very affordable.

I gave 2 stars for atmosphere, because it’s only 2 tables in there. I see people eat in there but It’s not a restaurant it’s pick up sushi little shop. Owners making them right in front of you and put box of sushi on the shelf and you can pick whatever you like. Sushi looks very good put together great taste , like in high end restaurant. Famous little shop for local, a lot of people in and out. Highly recommend if you in Lincolnshire area. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2

On the positive side, I thoroughly enjoyed their tuna sushi burrito. It was packed with flavor, and my girlfriend and I both loved it. It offered everything you'd hope for in a sushi burrito in terms of texture, filling, and taste. Plus, the price was quite good, in my opinion. As for the average options, I tried the salmon and tuna rolls as part of the Nippon combo. The maki rolls in that combo were surprisingly enjoyable—much to my delight, I found I preferred them over the nigiri. Now, for the less favorable aspect: the nigiri. I wasn't a fan of the nigiri rolls mainly because the rice was too cold. I'm not sure if it was freshly made or had been stored in the fridge, but sushi rice should ideally be served at room temperature. Cold rice changes the texture significantly. Overall, I think this restaurant has potential, depending on what you choose to order. The prices are really good, and I definitely recommend trying the sushi burrito or the maki rolls.
