Fujiyama - Vernon

There's not much to choose from on a Sunday in Vernon and frankly Fujiyama did not look that inviting but we were glad we went there. There are a lot of different ways to get something to eat here but we chose the 44 euro...boat for 2 and couldn't finish it. It looked so much smaller in the illustration and quite clearly we couldn't count. 2 bowls of delicious miso soup started it off, 8 hot and tasty meat brochettes and then a boatload of sushi with pickled ginger and wasabi on the side. The mackerel was particularly good and there was perhaps a surfeit of salmon. The most disappointing were the prawns. This restaurant is definitely recommended.

The service was great, food was excellent and the atmosphere was calm and kid friendly. They have a kids chair, didn't mind the stroller and recommended great dishes for the kids that came out fast and yummy. For sashimi lovers the fish were fresh and...were served nicely!

Great little restaurant tucked off the main road, a little difficult to get to right now because they are in the process of putting in a round-about in front of the restaurant. If you can make it to the restaurant early you can park in...their small parking lot, otherwise you must park in the business center park and walk about a block. My sister and her husband live nearby and this is one of ‘our’ regular restaurants when I visit. Great place to stop after viewing an American movie in the local theater. The menu is extensive, offering a variety of fresh nigiri sushi dishes (salmon, tuna, shrimp, white fish , some roll sushi dishes and chicken or tuna skewers as well as kabobs. And, you can’t beat the price (under $20 including a half bottle of wine or a beer. Service is good and there is no problem reordering when you 'clean your plate '. You know the fish is fresh because they always have a full restaurant regardless of the day of the week.

The miso soup is flavourful. The sushi is fresh and tastes great. A great meal at a fair price. Highly recommended!
