El Fredo Pizza Vermillion

The food is excellent! That's all you really need to know. Head over there, start your laundry at the laundromat, and then stroll on over to try one of their calzones or pastas. The pizza sauce is fantastic as well!

Update in October 2022: El Fredo's has become our favorite pizza spot in South Dakota. We often order too much so we can take leftovers home, and they actually get eaten! I grew up in New Haven, CT, known as the pizza capital of the world. While El Fredo's has a different style, we enjoy it nearly as much as the pizza back home. We started with toasted ravioli as an appetizer, which was delicious. The pizza itself was excellent—generously topped with cheese, a great crust, and plenty of sauce that kept the tomato flavor front and center. Many places skimp on the sauce, making it barely noticeable, but El Fredo's does it right. We had one sausage and mushroom pizza and a plain cheese pizza. The atmosphere was very pleasant, our server was attentive, and the food came out quickly. We will definitely be returning!

However, I have to rate them one star because I've consistently faced issues when trying to call in for a pick-up order. I've often had to call over 20 times before I finally get a response, and sometimes the phone just keeps ringing for a minute before an automated message plays, indicating that the answering service is off. To clarify, I am calling during business hours, and I am not calling during peak times. A pizza place that offers take-out should have a more efficient system in place for handling carry-out orders.

Called in for take-out. The pizza was ready in 20 minutes. Was helped right away when I came in to pick it up. Pizza was very good!
