It 's tucked away in the country a small room, run by a couple....Chef is the husband, who surely trained somewhere grand, because this food was breathtaking in presentation especially the salads, which could have been painted by an Old Master almost too beautiful to eat! But we did, and they were delicious. Mine had a large piece of terrine in the centre, which made it hard for me to tackle the wild white boar stew that followed. The desserts were also a picture; my husband 's has a lacy slice of pineapple that had been caramalised to form a fan for his home made ice cream and meringue (I think, if I remember correctly. I had a medley of chocolate delights absolutely top artisan quality. We were delighted and surprised when we received the bill well within our modest means, yet the meal was such as you 'd find in a world class top restaurant (and I once worked in the famous 'Hole in the Wall ' in Bath in it 's heyday, so I know what I 'm talking about.
Perfect small village restaurant, simple friendly, unpretentious. We had a light lunch and enjoyed an artistically stunning salad of fresh ingredients garnished with flowers and fruits. Run by nice people. Good value.
Loclal dishes you never heard of, prepared and presented with love and dedication. Ideal for the big hunger. Very family friendly. Ideal also for vegetarians, as many dishes naturally are based on eggplants and goat cheese.
