Contribuiți la feedbackOur last visit was great (2 years ago). We didn't have a booking but were accommodated and sat in the front bar area for a Sunday lunch. Only a very few people were there but we still had to wait 30 minutes for a curry and cassoulet. The cassoulet was nothing like it and my chicken curry had a rather unpleasant surprise. A small sharp piece of plastic that could have made some serious damage (photo-left side of the plate). I very carefully put the little invader aside and finish my dish being extremely careful. I informed the waitress to let the kitchen staff of the risk to other dinners. She apologised and left. We thought we wait for a few minutes in case the manager or the chef would come and see if we were ok but to no avail. Disappointed but unhurt! The two dishes were disappointing, service was civil....
Ate here with a large family group. There was something on the menu to keep everyone happy. Servings were generous, nicely presented and reasonably priced. The wait staff were friendly and efficient.
Walking through the door on a freezing winters night we were welcomed into the warm atmosphere of the front bar by the pub dog Benny. The dining room staff were friendly and encouraged us to enjoy a drink in front of the fire before dinner which was a nice start to the evening. In the dining room the tables are well spaced and laid out so you don't feel annoyingly packed in. The wine list was impressive with a really clever mix of good affordable wine. For entree we had cauliflower cheese croquettes and couldn't fault them. Dinner was a 400g cape grim steak for him which he thought was well done but had a very disappointing vein of gristle through it, it was also slightly underdone for medium rare. For me falafel salad, these were clearly home made and had quite an unusual creamy texture, the balance of all the flavours in the salad was good with green lentils and chickpeas giving it substance. Vegetarians will be happy here. I wanted dessert but I was full. This was bad planning on my behalf i shouldn't have had lunch. The wait staff are Gen Y, try not to take that too seriously and don't be in a hurry.
Had dinner at the Stanley Bridge with my family this week. Excellent food and helpful, knowledgable staff. The salmon was amazing but I almost had food envy for the to die for steak. Very enjoyable and we will be back and soon!
Booked in to a very busy Tavern for Lunch. The Service/Food was terrific considering the amount of people that were there. It has had an upgrade since we were last there, especially the outside area which was great. We will certainly return as it is located in a lovely spot in the Adelaide Hills and very close to Adelaide.Well done Staff as you had to work on Mothers Day.
