Sierra Cafe - Verdi

We haven't been here for a few months but glad we came here today. Place is very clean. The staff were great! Special shout out to Shelly who gave 5 star service. We haven't seen this caliber of service in a very long time. The food was really good. We had the dinner size chicken fried steak, fish and chips, cheese pizza and their soup of the day (meatball soup-my daughter gave the soup 2 thumbs up). The fish was great-thin batter and tons of fish. Fries are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The pizza had lots of cheese. The soup had lots of meatballs. My husband really enjoyed the chicken fried steak. Just a heads up the Cafe is short staffed, but the staff worked their butts off to provide a great dinner experience. We will definitely be back. When the best thing on the plate are the peas and carrots, that’s says it all.. we both ordered the prime rib.. the texture made it almost inedible.. it was almost gelatinous.. the weirdest texture.. Our dog definitely scored on that one.. I also asked for a baked potato with butter and sour cream.. I was served a plain baked potato. So I asked for sour cream and butter.. she brought a new potato filled with cooked bacon and topped with melted cheese.. I really don’t like cheese or bacon in my potato, hence my original order.. so, unless you want to feed your dog a cpl nights of prime rib.. don’t go to the Sierra cafe and order prime rib.. no matter the price, it was inedible Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

We came to this resturant many times over that past 7 years. On this visit, I ordered the blast sandwich with navy bean soup. The soup was very very salty. My sandwich was least to be desired: dry toast with a piece of sad lettuce, some bacon n avocado. Used to serve great tasting food over the years, but this time was terrible. I'll go somewhere else before eating at this place.

I forgot the name of my dish but it was amazing. There was so much food. The bacon was thick and tasted good. The sausage also had a good taste. I got a side of hollandaise sausage it was also really good. Our server was really nice and attentive. The only this that lacked flavor was the coffee. Just when you think it can't be worse it is. Thought I'd give it another try. Sunday evening after Hot August Nights after staying at rv park they own we thought what the heck let's use our $15 coupon. Closed for maintenance. 6 pm. Terrible. As we left more senior citizens trying to go there. Shut it down. Total failure.
