I was especially interested in some special fruits. the prices are good, and the traders in general are patient. an americanos. I recommend for those with a feeling of adventurous. it is a piece of Mexican culture that is worth experiencing!
Un pco de todo, as they say in Spanish. a little of everything: stand full of fresh food, snacks and all Mexican. put them down to eat tasks and authentic and cheap tacos, tort like, tamalees. Veracruz...Locals are saying pickpockets, but everyone we met on the market was helpful and friendly.
We love to visit the local mercados, and that was a joy. After a short walk through the stands where my wife found a woven handbag she had looked for, I decided to have a taqueria stand that looked clean and had several customers already eat. I ordered sopa de pollo and my wife has three tacos al pastor. both were delicious. during eating two different music groups came by to entertain. While you don't have to, I always make sure I'm tapping buskers. a group in white kerlaberras even sang la bamba, which originally comes from veracruz, jarocho style! if they are looking for a real Mercado experience, hildago mercado will not disappoint.
Crazy, indoor market. aisles are thin and dark. many fresh products, shoes and many small, typical dishes in the opposite style: tacos seafood.
You can walk here from the zocalo in about 10 minutes. Food counters specializing in seafood, fruit, vegetables, clothing, pinatas, cheeses, flowers, shoes, etc. Not huge; you won't get lost. We had mixed seafood cocktail with saltines here.
