I entered barcelos today. 03/04/2024, Time 18:03 the lady who was on counter ignored me sent me back to after a minute while awaiting to be served, telling me, they are closed. I asked why is the door still open if they're closed, she says it's a mistake. Who's mistake is it.? How is everyone trained, shouldn't you close the door before you balance your books, rather than balancing your books while customers are entering the door. Please sort yourselves out!! I cannot get to the restaurant when awaiting to be served, no queue and after a while be told the restaurant is closed, but the door is open!!

The staff at the Ventersdorp Barcelos could greatly benefit from training in hospitality and customer service. When we entered the restaurant on Friday, December 16, 2022, with the intention of dining in, we were met with nothing but cold stares. At the counter, an African female employee seemed preoccupied with taking notes on a pad while we stood waiting to be acknowledged and to place our order. When we started discussing our options based on the menu displayed above—since we were not given any menus—we were told in Setswana that they could only serve us chips due to loadshedding, and that power wouldn't be restored until 18:00. However, according to the schedule, power was supposed to return at 16:00. This clearly indicates that the staff lacks interest in serving customers and is negatively impacting the Barcelos brand image.
