Contribuiți la feedbackWe had a very disappointing meal here, definitely the worst food and service we’ve had in our multi-city tour of Italy. The $25 fillet steak I had was a small, poor cut of meat that was cooked way beyond my request. It came topped with an odd “gravy” of tiny capers and peppercorns that literally gagged my throat. It was plated on top of 2 pieces of bread with dry potatoes that stuck together. My wife had pasta bolognese, the pasta and sauce were both well below average. We were initially seated outside but were immediately inundated with small black flies and they allowed us to move inside. The table and seating were cramped and uncomfortable. We began with a very nice waitress who’s shift apparently ended during our dinner hour meal. She was replaced by a rude, and quite apparently, discriminatory male server who catered to other tables while ignoring ours. Still fighting bugs inside, we patiently waited 15 minutes after requesting our check. The very friendly owner or manager (not sure which) wandered inside, so my wife asked him for the check. He proceeded to lecture her that “insisting” on getting our check was not appropriate. To his credit, he brought 2 limoncello shots and some tiny cookies with the check. We left them untouched as, by this time, our festive mood was long gone.
Kori is found on Calle Largo San Marco, a few strides from the Piazza, you would find it by walking right past St Mark 's coming from the canal side Tracked down two Venetian specialities here, Sarde in Saor ; fried sardines in sweet vinegar marinated onions, and Fegato Venezia, the Venetian take on fried liver and onions. Fish is my go to option on a menu so no surprise I loved the sarde; I could also recommend the liver even though I do not always eat liver from one year to the next Fegato Venezia is known for changing the minds of 'people who don 't like liver ' Wife has lasagne, as pictured look almost upside down, do no know if there is a Veneto recipe here but is certainly made in house of course. We had mineral water and the inevitable prosecco , there is a 10% service charge in place of cover charge, took us to just wrong side of Euro 83, fir the location by Piazza San Marco we had no complaints
We happened upon Restaurant Kori (Grill? after we were at Piazza San Marco. We were hungry and it was just far enough from the square that we took our chances. And honestly, the restaurant delivered. Maybe we made the right choice for the food, as the lasagna was quite delicious and our starter scallop was very nice too (albeit being a ridiculously small portion for the price . To be honest, we had quite a bit of a discussion how to rate this place, as some aspects of it would deserve more a 3 than a 4 (like the price/value , but overall especially thanks to the good lasagna we feel that 4 is deserved in its category. The category of tourist trappy restaurants close to some of the main sights of Venice.
At kori grill we had ink pastes, calamari and a tiramisu. the restaurant is very friendly and the service is top notch. eating is delicious and unique.
Warm and quick service, even if it was crowded on a rainy day. the employees are polite and can be chatted. squid tinte pasta mushroom and ham pizza at about 40 € taste great. ambient's okay. overall it was a pleasant experience.
