Al Mascaron - VENEZIA

An authentic pearl! It was Friday night and we were looking for a non-tourist place near the hotel, We convinced to enter immediately the sign: “no cappuccino no pizza” the Menù then, had a Venetian scent. Sarde in saor, liver, triple parmigiana and spectacular mussels! We would have eaten the dishes too! Inside the environment is small but welcoming, crowded as a living room at Christmas, happy and noisy of laughter, of harmonious tables. One of those places where you want to return because the staff makes you feel at home, the food warms your heart to every mouth and the good wine floods everything with love. Fabulous wine shop, friendly and helpful staff. Very good fish, antipathy with sardines and tasty typicality. Recommended really!!! From appetizer to desserts a dish better than the other!

Really wanted to gate keep this place but also want to share my love for this amazing local establishment. From the starters to pasta to dessert and great wine pairings, you could feel the heart and soul in each bites. We tried a selection of seafoods appetizers and pastas; absolutely devoured them, so flavorful and like nothing I’ve had before. Besides, the prices are super affordable for the top-notch quality. You can tell this is not a typical touristy place by the amounts of locals coming in to eat and chat with the owner. But they are also super welcoming and make you feel like you are among the locals. So glad to have dined in such a great and authentic place in Venice, it was the perfect cherry on top of my visit to this wonderful city. Hope I can go again soon!

The best spaghetti!!! Portions a bit small, we had to order another portion straight away. Staff was nice. But price performance is totally right!!!

A typical Venetian tavern with excellent food at affordable prices, the innkeeper is a pleasant and friendly person. The evening passes quickly and pleasantly.
