Estaminet Le Vieux Cageot - Vendeville

Dusty and dark establishment. Unsustainable smell. Don't want to eat. Lamentable service.

Have been with the family in this estaminet for the Mother's Day. The menu at 25€ (kir-entrance -plat -dessert -café was related to its price. The products were well cooked, seasoned, seasoned and beautifully presented. But...the service proved disastrous. The boss did not want to explain one of the entries; “It’s a surprise” she said! How to choose when you don’t know what’s in it?! 2h30 after the arrival the main dishes were not served, the service did not take place in the order of arrival, despite several revivals our dessert arrived after a very long wait. The staff was outdated and without organisation... The most painful thing is to have never been served at the same time. My husband waited another 15 minutes to get his entrance. For the dish it is my son and I who were served with 20 minutes of difference and dessert arrived in two times with 25 minutes of difference! Where is the pleasure of eating with the family ?!!! A last flat on cleanliness: tablecloth that sticks under the elbows, dark and dusty rooms. We frequent the estaminets a lot and old doesn't mean dirty!

A very nice welcome the very warm Patrone. Restau atypique :le menu written by hand on a sheet A4. Everything is kitchen on site. Verdict, :patoe very good house, velvety of very good home endives, pork tripes very good. Hamburger one can atypical for the restaurant but very good. Only regret is the bread of the hamburger that is not made by the baker, because the bread is of harry type it staggers everything! The fries are home the lady has certified it to me but the taste looks like frozen fries. Maybe is this beef fat and saindoux in any case they are not tasteful. The burnt creme house very good. To finish the check is reasonable I took a photo of the menu to give you an idea of the prices and what they offer.

Nice and family-friendly. Space is quite exiguous but it brings charm. Thanks to the boss and his kindness.

If the exterior look does not attract your eye, do not hesitate to cross the door. You will be very welcome (family welcome) in this estaminet, smile, kindness of the patronage and a very pretty shaded terrace. Not to mention the quality of traditional cuisine. I'll be back with pleasure.
