Agnelos - Varca

Just outside the Caravela Main Gates, nice goan food in quiet surroundings. Agnelos has been here for years so we were told by people that had been coming for upto 20 years. Very inexpensive food in a laid back atmosphere. If you order the day before you can have Shepherds Pie or Steak Pie, believe they are both very nice and a change from curry. Worth a visit its a change from the Beach Shacks

Agnelos is just the best place to eat in Varca. It is just outside the Caravela beach resort. We have been going there for many years and Agnelo is one of the nicest and friendliest people we know. The restaurant is small and basic but spotlessly clean.The food is freshly cooked and is delicious with a varied menu from curries, seafood, steaks and even shepherds pie. The spring rolls are to die for. He goes to market every day for fresh produce. The atmosphere in there is great with groups of people meeting up from year to year. Our holiday wouldn't be the same without Agnelo. You must try it.

Angelo`s is located outside the Ramada Hotel.It serves some good Goan kingfish curry with rice.The service, food rates would pass muster as average.

Can't wait to get back again next week and see Agnelo and enjoy another meal and Kingfisher of course.

My wife Cynthia and I first met Agnelo well over 10 years ago when we stayed at the Renaissance (now the Ramada) Hotel close to his Restaurant Bar. One of our lasting happy memories from that time was during lunch at Agnelo's with our dear friends Eira Ken was, whilst we were enjoying a Kingfisher beer (look for the big Kingfisher sign on his bar wall) a Kingfisher perched on the telephone pole alongside us, surely a good luck omen. Cynthia and myself recently went back to Agnelo's and received a great welcome, renewing our friendship with Agnelo whilst once again lunching and toasting his continuing success with a long, cool Kingfisher. Don't miss it folks! So laid back. You won't be sorry.
