The historical main building looks beautiful... when you enter the gate you are looking on it. surrounded with a huge garden with a lot of seating areas, an outdoor pool, different parking areas, surrounded with a nice fence or old walls. We booked a junior suite, which was in the new building where the Spa area is. Unfortunately we expected to have a room in the old building with old furniture etc. Even everything was quite new, it wasn't so nice. The furniture looked like something from a catalogue, white walls without any art, so the room was big, looking a bit empty but had not so much in common with a junior suite. BUT: The bathroom was with shower and whirl pool bathtub. We had a balcony but not a private one it was more like a corridor connecting all rooms on this floor. So when having the window open during the night, everyone could have entered our room easily. The hotel bar behind the main building is really nice, the staff very friendly. We also liked the Pizzeria which belongs to the hotel and is situated in one of the old buildings. Breakfast was self service with a small buffet but good. We haven't used the Spa, but the outdoor pool was nice and very clean! Overall a very nice and quite place next to a lake, which could easily be with some small improvements a five star hotel. I really liked it!
The food overall was very nice. The menu is very limited and after eating there 3 nights seen the menu. Will stay in this Hotel many times in the future so I hope the menu will change more often. The service was friendly and very fast. The wine list was top and we enjoyed a nice Barolo for a normal price.
It was our last night in Italy and we wanted to eat in and not have to drive as we wanted to enjoy some good wine, so we decided to have dinner at Villa Borghi. We didn't have high expectations because of the previous reviews but ended up very pleased with the quality of the food, service and ambience. The restaurant had a special menu from Mon-Fri for hotel guests at 18 euros for 1 main course water; or 25 euros for 2 courses water. We chose the 2 course meal. The 2 pasta dishes in basil sauce and ham cream sauce were perfectly done. I wished I had ordered pasta instead of the squid salad which was just so-so. However, my second course, pork medallions in Marsala sauce was delicious. We chose 2 bottles of nice Barolo as well. Apart from 3 other diners, we had the whole elegant and beautiful dining room to ourselves. A beautiful way to end our two week holiday in Italy!
Hotel Villa Borghi near Milan promises a luxurious four-star experience but fails to deliver on multiple fronts. Right from the outset, the service was lackluster, lacking the attention to detail and warmth you'd expect from a hotel of this caliber. The room was another disappointment—specifically, the bed, which was uncomfortably hard, making for a restless night. To top it off, the pool was closed, which was especially frustrating considering the 28-degree heat outside. A hotel that claims to offer a premium experience should not fall short in these basic areas. Overall, Hotel Villa Borghi was a letdown, meriting a rating of just 2 out of 5.
