Juniper - Vancouver

Good cocktails, tasty food and friendly servers! The restaurant is nice and clean. Really pleasant place to visit again.

The local, in the heart of chinatown and in a decisive contrast to the style of others, is a restaurant but it is actually a rather trendy bar and frequented by young customers. great list of cocktails that are definitely the strong point of the place, good but not exceptional choice of beers, only one barber cider and not even so tasty. Avoid food, the menu features original options but in portions from aperitifs but with starry restaurant prices. $30 for a cutting board with three tastes of cheese and two salami, good but definitely too expensive, things that normally in an aperitif bring you included in the price. I still recommend a stop for a drink. the prices are on average vancouver, about 20 euros for a cocktail, 10 for a bottled beer

While waiting to get in next door, Bao Bei, we ventured into Juniper. Ah yes, satisfaction guaranteed. From the seating to the check, their service was the best we found in Vancouver. And the cocktails, snacks and mood elevated our entire evening. Start here!

Interesting layout in a new condo development on Keefer east of Main. Sloping street required a multi-level seating arrangement.Four of us went with a reservation a 7 PM. Arrived on time and seated at a nice table in the lower level corner. Most seats taken, noise level acceptable for conversation. Service good, menu compact, large drink list, small wine list. Cheapest bootle was $52. Ordered at 6 oz. for $9 instead.For food we started with the Beet and Burrata Cheese. Was a little light on the cheese and it was not spread evenly on the beets. Second appy was the Elk Tartar. A bit salty, and the dish did not get all eaten. Appies were on the expensive side, not too large but each would be too much for one person - 2 to 4 sharing they worked fine.For mains we had a Chicken Breast (small amount of tender chicken), a Gnocchi (rated good), a Barley Risotto (rated good), and an Albacore Tuna (just OK). Decent size servings, a bit pricy (23-$27). Passed on dessert. Credit cards acepted.

Cocktail list is long, original, and well crafted. Servers are friendly and attentive.The food is very tasty- above average. That said, the dishes are small and pricey, so be prepared for that. The atmosphere is modern, perhaps a little too cold, but the lighting was nice and overall very pleasant.Good for afterwork drinks, friends, dates...Can hold its own for a special night out.
