Contribuiți la feedbackThis is a beautiful place to get away from the burgers, fried chicken and taco almost food. I am not Hawaiian, although I have been there three times, her eating is amazing. Of course I didn't try everything there, but what I ate was great! it was very tasteful. I ate the katsu moco, which was like baked chicken on rice with gravur and an egg above. my eyes were bigger than mine, because I ordered two spam musubis, which were also amazing. I had two days to eat. beautiful small, clean, harmless place in a strip-mall, it must try.
The first time here after I turned it off and forgot to try it for almost 6 years, and I am so sad that I slept so long on it! the taste of the char on the huh is amazing (I had the hoku’s bbq huhn,) and the katsu is perfectly crisp and has a beautiful taste in the broth period. I would like to come back, but also the smaller part is like 3 meal times, so I never have to eat again!
1949, Lincoln Grill in Hilo, Hawaii. Some teenagers request something cheap and fast from Nancy Inouye that isn 't a sandwich. Nancy throws some rice in a bowl, grills up a burger and then throws some brown gravy on it (the over easy egg came later). The teenagers decided to name it for a friend named George Okimoto, or crazy as they called him. Another friend, George Takahashi, who was taking a Spanish class, said Loco would be a good name for it and then put moco on the end just because it rhymed. Like a lot of Hawaiian food, it 's basically struggle food, but I get a hankering for it from time to time. This place was on the news a couple of weeks ago so I decided to try theirs. Patties are chargrilled and they don 't short you on the gravy unlike some places! Probably the best Loco Moco I 've had since I was last in Maui. I haven 't had it at Kiawe yet though so there 's that. Also, I kind of laughed a little about their teriyaki tidbit on their menu with the suggestion to put it on their mac salad. I 've been doing this since forever, but I guess it 's not a well known thing. Their teriyaki sauce is bomb too. Bold flavor compared to some other watered down versions. Mac salad doesn 't make sense to a lot of people. Again, it 's kind of struggle food, but throw some teriyaki on it and see how it elevates.
Man-o-man! I love their food! Such a great place for lunch and the staff always treats you like family! This is one of my go to spots in Vancouver and always reminds me of the great BBQ I get, when I visit the Islands.
Tender, juicy goodness! I ordered the Huli Huli Chicken which is one of their most popular items and now I know why! The flavor was bold, the chicken was cooked to perfection, and the portions were big. The potstickers were fried to a golden brown on the outside with the center warm and tasty. Virginia was amazing. She was friendly, accommodating, and funny. I always feel like I'm a burden when I have my 19 month old with me, but she instantly made me feel comfortable and made him smile. Definitely family friendly. I can't wait to go back and try more!
