Fallowfields - Vale of White Horse

Whilst the venue was very nice and the warm welcome at reception was good that is all I can say about the whole experience, nice and good. The food in general was good but needed a lot of seasoning. One course burnt your mouth whilst the watermelon sorbet had melted so much it was a drink. Service wasn't as professional as the venue suggests it should be. We were half way through our taster menu and the waitress asked us what menu we would like! They added on a very large service charge to the bill which left a slightly bitter after taste too. Overall wouldn't recommend as we thought it was over priced when you're comparing it to a Michelin stared restaurant price.

The taster menu was outstanding, perfectly presented, the service was extremely good and the ambiance lovely.

Wonderful meal. Stunning food, really good service, beautiful crockery, rather expensive so not an every day food experience. The decor could be updated (particually the lounge furniture), but a beautiful location. The tables in the dining room are really well spaced for individual, private dining in a large room.

Myself my wife had lunch for an anniversary celebration on saturday the 21st of june. This is a beautiful location for a romantic meal can honestly say that our meal was exceptional plus the amuse bouch served between each course was a real surprise presented so professionally. My only criticism would be that there is only one choice of champagne at £63 a bottle, surely a cheaper alternative like Lanson or Moet should be available!
