Contribuiți la feedbackRoom is clean but otherwise this place sucks. Rudest staff I 've ever seen at a Hilton property, stayed at over 200. Not just one person. Bartender added a tip to my order which I wasn 't given the ability to even see (illegal fraud, btw, even though I always tip anyway). Front desk guy was very what do you want and suggested I go sit in the turned off shuttle in the dark when I asked for a ride. Then he reluctantly pointed at the driver who was sitting in the lobby who, surprise surprise was also rude. 0 for 3. The morning people were nicer but holy god for how much this property charges it is incredibly mediocre and I 'm extremely disappointed with it. Rich snobby ski towns for you
Strictly “Average…”I stay at hotels over 80 nights per year, the vast majority being with Hilton properties. Many of those hotels wear the Doubletree brand.Imagine my surprise when the lowest-level Doubletree I’ve stayed in was found in VAIL, CO!Don’t get me wrong- this hotel is clean, the workout room is top-notch, the pool and hot tub nice and clean, and the staff friendly enough, but this hotel is more along the lines of a Comfort Inn or Best Western, and the rates that you pay here are not in line with those levels of quality. The rooms are small, not very well-lit, and the location is just “okay.”For not very much more per night, $20-$50) you can stay at MUCH NICER properties in and around Vail. The real saving grace here is the restaurant, which is unaffiliated with the hotel. Every meal I’ve had there has been delicious and rather reasonable compared to others in the area.Again, there are no glaring issues here- but I would expect a lower rate compared to what you are getting for your dollar. If you are really counting pennies, or have a longer stay planned, this place will certainly do- just don’t expect the level of quality of most other Doubletrees.
We've stayed here numerous times while visiting Vail and have always had a great experience. The staff is eager to please...they recognize one's Diamond status...and the location is just down the road from the Village/Lionshead. The shuttle bus is very easy to use with quick delivery and pickup. And if you like to walk, there are cool trails just behind the hotel, and Lionshead is about a 30-45 minute hike. A couple of staff members deserve kudos: Brianna at check-in was most accommodating when we had a minor room issue, and Helmuth did a great job at check-out. (And Nick was steady throughout our stay! We're looking forward to our next visit in September!
TLDR: it was clean, the staff are SO kind and helpful but it was HOT everywhere in the hotel and the pool area was unkempt. Taking off stars solely for how uncomfortable I was all weekend. The long: The rooms are nice and clean. They seem to be doing some work near the pool area, which was a bit unsightly and my husband had to actually ask for the net to clean the pool because it was FULL of bugs (seriously, like hundreds no biggie but a little annoying as we were on vacation. No breakfast AT ALL. There is a little shop you can buy breakfast items at a premium which is pretty disappointing at this price point. My biggest complaint of all was the temperature of the hotel. The main lobby/bar was LITERALLY 77°, the restaurant directly connected was the same (77° the gym was 80° which for summer is pretty ridiculous. The worst of all was that no matter how low I tried to make the air in the room, it was so hot I couldn’t sleep. I was up tossing and turning all night and we stayed for two nights. Needless to say I spent our one full day there totally exhausted. Based on the uncomfortable temperature alone, I wouldn’t dare comment back in the summer.Nearby activities: The hotel has a shuttle that comes every 15 minutes and runs until 11pm. Nearby shopping and food McDonald’s and restaurant (closed on mondays in walking distance.
An absolute great place! So much room for activities! The rooms were what you expect from Hilton, and the location is right in the sweet spot of “feels away from it all but is right in the middle of it all”. The staff was great and friendly, and you won’t want for anything- shopping there in hotel or within a short walk nearby, and FREE shuttle to Lionshead and back every 20-ish mins. A great dog park too!
