Happy Joe's Pizza And Ice Cream

Edit: I decided to give it another try the following day and ordered online instead of calling, wanting to avoid any preferential treatment due to my previous experience. This way, I could make a fair evaluation. Fortunately, the pizza arrived in a reasonable time this time around. While I was initially taken aback by the price, I was pleased to find that the pizza was quite substantial, which made the cost feel justified considering the amount of food. As for the flavor, it was good, though there were a few issues. The sauce wasn’t spread evenly, and there was too much of it. The sauce near the crust was just right, but it became overwhelming towards the center. Next time, I’ll definitely order it with light sauce. The sausage was tasty, but the cheese felt a bit bland—this might have been due to it being overshadowed by the sauce. Also, for anyone looking for deep dish pizza, this is more akin to a Detroit-style pan pizza than traditional Chicago deep dish. Overall, it was a decent pizza, and I would rate the second experience at 4 stars, but I’ll deduct one star due to the initial mix-up with my order. Given this experience, and not having tried the regular crust yet, I think I’ll stick to my usual pizza places for now and reserve this deep dish for when I want to switch things up. I plan to try the regular crust eventually and will update this review with my thoughts on that.

It's been a while since we had Happy Joe's, and we were quite disappointed this time. The pizza and pretzels were served cold, and the pizza was overcooked and bland. It used to be that Happy Joe's had the best taco pizza in town, but I think I'll be going with Casey's from now on.

I ordered pizza through Uber Eats, but it arrived cold and didn't match what I had ordered. The crust was tough like cardboard, and the toppings were minimal. While Uber Eats did give us a partial refund, Happy Joe's was unable or unwilling to help us further. I've asked my wife not to let me order from Happy Joe's again. It's unfortunate because they used to serve amazing pizza. Next time I crave something from Happy Joe's, I think I'll just go for a cheap frozen pizza—at least that way I'll be happier.

The staff was super nice! Pizza was perfect! So much taste! Great! You can't go wrong with Happy Joe's pizza.
