Coco Bliss - Upper Mount Gravatt

I came on a date night it was lovely. It is a busy place and there was a bit of a queue to get in but we didn’t wait to long. The menu was good and had a variety of options. My meal was super...yummy and would definitely go back.

Service, atmosphere and staff was great a 9/10. Unfortunately the food was huge letdown, a 2/10 and I’m being generous. The pasta dishes we ordered were overcooked, dry and had little to no taste. The bases of the pizzas we ordered on the other hand...were undercooked and the topping disappointing. Vapiano for the prices you charge you need to step up. We will never be back!

0/10 would recommend. On arrival we were sent to a table that was already taken. There was a phenomenal waiter with pink hair, who showed us to another table and was amazing when we had dealings with him. Our burrata entree was sent to another...table that has arrived well after us, the waiter even confirmed it had gone to wrong table. My pasta arrived and it was extremely dry with almost no sauce coating the pasta, like we’re on war rations. I had asked at ordering for extra sauce and was happy to pay for it. My pasta was sent back (even though I just asked for a small container of Sauce to pour over). On return I was told “here it’s been microwaved” on explaining again that I simply wanted extra sauce, it was taken away again. My friend at this point had STILL not received her main of the pasta seafood in garlic butter. Manager came to see us and on explanation she said they normally charged extra for that. Once again I said I had asked for that when I ordered. Manager tried to explain new staff etc, but seriously a 1/4 cup of sauce on pasta should not be an extra. Manager did refund our money and on my dish returning, with actual sauce my friend got their dish as well. Very disappointing considering we were there to support Share the Dignity cocktail.

We ate here regularly for a few years and it was always one of those experiences where you didn't mind the price of the pizzas because they tasted great and were made really well. I don't know whether there has been a change of management...or different staff in the kitchen but the last three times we have eaten there have been consistently disappointing. Pizza crusts (which were always a feature) were thin and over cooked. The margerita has gotten incrementally worse with the saddest single piece of basil sitting in the middle. The other pizzas suffered similarly. Always breaks my heart when one of my favourite places takes a turn I hope they can pull the reigns up and return to their usual consistent quality, but I doubt we will return again. The last visit was over $100 and I regretted every dollar.

We have dined at other chains but found that this is the best one. Their risotto is the bestest. At other places the taste and the looks aren’t same as this one’s. I recommend this vapiano over all others.
