Dat Cajun Place Cafe

My party decided to eat here after a long morning of fishing. We sat at the bar, and was immediately greeted by Joshua. He was great! He offered options, upsold my party to a dozen oysters, and kept the conversation going with everyone at the bar. Very friendly. I wasn't used to a cajun-style restaurant, so I was a little leary of what to order. I ended up trying the Monte Cristo. It's basically a ham cheese sandwich deep fried. A GREAT combination! The sandwich was excellent. Loved the extra touch of powdered sugar sprinkled on top. We loved the dining area as a whole, and it was sure packed. Had we not sat at the bar, we would have probably had to wait at least 30 minutes for a table. And as we ate, both the food and the service showed us why this place is a crowd favorite. Make this part of your trip to PCB!

Food was good and plentiful. Everything was hot and fresh and came out n a timely manner..

Be prepared to wait! Mobs of people in and out the entire time were there. Fun atmosphere, not a fan of the live music inside while we ate, but it was ok. Ordered shrimp and grits. Grits were not good, at least not on my southern palette. Ruined the dish. My husband's oysters were really good but super small compared to other places I've been. He also has the shrimp Pontchartrain which was excellent. Might be worth another visit when it's not so busy.

Been coming for years. Food and service have never changed even w the location change. Love it! I do prefer the old location by the beach but we make the drive down regardless.
