Contribuiți la feedbackI have stayed here several times. One visit we did not have hot water. When I complained upon departure I was told I would be compensated with points...did not happen. Decided to try the hotel again because of location and price. Usually when looking at prices they list that parking will be an additional fee....this did not. They did not charge for parking in the past. Upon arrival I was told there would be a charge for parking. To avoid this we parked off premises. On Saturday we checked to make sure that the parking would not be on our bill. The front desk said they would remove it. The next day upon checking out the parking remained on the bill. When I told the girl about it was supposed to be removed and we parked off hotel property she asked where we parked. I told her across the street by the conference center she said that was hotel property. I questioned this as it is public property which was confirmed by a witness. She glared at him and said she was going to speak to the assistant manager. Was informed after a long wait they could not adjust the bill and I was welcome to speak to the manager. They said it didn't matter where we parked that if we had a car we would be charged. They had too many people parking there that were not hotel guests which we witnessed several people doing. Meanwhile Marriott is punishing there customers instead of rectifying the parking issue for nonpaying guests. They have no way of knowing who is a guest or not. The parking is an issue which needs to be resolved but not at the expense of the guests. Had they been upfront about the parking like other hotels this would not be an issue. What is also wrong the lies that were being told by the hotel staff. They were rude and very unprofessional. We will not be staying there more for the lack of professional behavior and the unwillingness to work this out.
Generally nice. Staff was friendly. No problems with the room. Neighbor guests were quite loud, but hotel helped when informed. I’m not sure about all rooms, but if you’re in a mill room the train goes by at 1130 and 130 and blows its whistle. Normally I like trains… Pool and Mclub lounge were good.
The closet-sized exercise room is in dire need of a major overhaul.
I have stayed at Marriott's all over the world over the last 30 years. Columbus Marriott is the worst one and not worthy of the name. Old and smelly rooms. Loud guests. Front desk employees are rude. They charge $25/day for incidentals regardless if you use anything. When asked why they charge this fee, the employees become belligerent toward guests.
We held our wedding at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center on April 6th, 2024. We used the Columbus Marriott as our guest hotel, and we could not have been happier with that decision. We worked with Jill Normand, and she was helpful with drafting a proposal and finding us a good group rate. The staff were exceptional, they took time one weekend to give us a personal tour so that we could view the rooms we selected and provided an overview of the amenities that would be available to our guests. Often when we called just to check in on how many rooms had been reserved, they were always friendly in providing updates. Our guests had nothing but good things to say about the hotel. Many commented on the design of the hotel, the cleanliness, the hospitality of the staff, the breakfast (for those that ate), and of course, the convenience in proximity to the wedding and the riverwalk.
