Grassi's - University Place

After a long and demanding day at work, this restaurant was just what we needed. The three of us ordered different entrees, and each dish exceeded our expectations. They also offer a nice selection of complimentary wines. The service was excellent, too. This local family-run establishment is definitely worth a visit.

This was truly one of the best dining experiences my wife and I have had at an Italian restaurant anywhere. Our waiter, Jason, was incredibly patient and knowledgeable, skillfully recommending the best dishes and getting our appetites going before the food even arrived. All four adults in our party thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the excellent service, and the charming atmosphere of this cozy restaurant. We will definitely be returning and I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking an incredible Italian dinner at great prices!

This charming hidden gem is located on Bridgeport. If you're looking for an elegant and romantic evening, this is definitely the place to go. With so many Italian restaurants in the area, it's truly refreshing to find a little slice of Italy right here in University Place. I've celebrated several occasions here, and everything has been outstanding. From the appetizers to the wine selection, entrees, and desserts - everything is just perfect! There’s a lovely little hidden courtyard at the back, which is absolutely delightful! It’s an ideal spot for larger groups, perhaps for a girls’ night out or a post-dinner gathering. I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed. If you haven't dined here yet, I highly recommend giving it a try!

Great food, great atmosphere and the best part was the service. Jason our very professional and yet personable server made the culinary experience of 4 to 5 stars. He was patient and accommodating on our table and above all my very hard to enjoyable mother. The atmosphere was amazing and all courses were delicious. All that was ordered by our party of four was delicious and the cook offered an experience that you could say was derived from some old family recipes with a touch of creativity. We arrived shortly before 8 a.m. and left at 10 a.m. what I could add is an hour after the closure. We were never rushed, and Jason was patient and friendly to the end. My wife and I have a new favorite Italian place in the Tacoma area and we will try again the NY Strip Stroganoff!

My family has made a habit of coming here because of both the amazing service and even better food. Like any truly Italian restaurant, this is the place to go when you want to take your time and have a relaxing, delicious meal with friends or family. The menu is small, but you can't go wrong with anything on there (my personal favorite is the bolognese), and the wine selection is hand picked, varying depending on vintage. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Tacoma.
