Contribuiți la feedbackMy husband, daughter, and I met my sister and her family there for dinner this evening. My sister and I each had coupon voucher. When my sister saw the waitress, she told her that each one of our families had a voucher and asked is we would each be able to use them since we were on 2 separate tickets. She was told her it would be no problem. The meal was pretty good although Central BBQ is still way better). The problem began when we went to check out. When we were standing in line waiting to checkout, Fat Larry was talking to guys standing behind us, I heard him rudely say, I will get it for you when these people move out of the way referring to mine and my sister 's families). Our waitress took my sister 's voucher and processed her remaining payment. When I stepped up to the register and handed her my voucher, she was about to process it when, very rudely, Fat Larry asked where we were sitting. I pointed to our table. Again rudely, he asked, With them? referring to my sister). I told him yes. He blew up at me and said that he would not honor my voucher that he wasn 't giving away $40 worth of food which apparently he doesn 't know how to do math because he would have only been offering $20 worth of food). This would be no different if each of our families had come in and sat at separate tables. Its ' not like they were busy anyway. My sister also tried to talk to him again and one of his family members I assume) tried to give her $20 to shut up and go away. I would not be writing such a negative review you if Fat Larry has said something like, I 'm sorry, but I can only allow one voucher per table. I 'm sorry my employee told you wrong, but I hope you will come back another time. I would have been more understanding and MIGHT have visited again. If he doesn 't want people using vouchers, then he shouldn 't offer them. The attitude and rudeness with which he spoke to me and my sister was absolutely unacceptable. I have never been spoken to like that before in my life and I will never give that man one penny more than what I had to pay him for dinner tonight and I hope those of you considering going won 't either. I had read other reviews on some other websites, but I tried to go with an open mind to give it a chance...the biggest mistake of the year.
My wife and I have eaten at Fat Larry's many times in the last two years. We especially apprecaiate the fine fat-frer boneless cut 2-steak dinners combos. The meat itself is perfect and we look forward to it every time we go. We regret they are closed on Sundays, or we would go there even more.
Yum! I love this place! It's one of my favorite places to go out and eat at. Everyone is really friendly, and the food is great! :
Had a most fabulous experience at Fat Larry 's BBQ last night. We used a Restaurant.com coupon, which they gladly accepted. We ordered a little of almost everything and were not disappointed in anything. We started off with the fried dill pickles, fried green beans and sweet potato fries. The pickles and beans were crispy and came with a great dipping sauce that had a Ranch dressing base. We liked the fries, but decided they didn 't go well with the beer we were having. Entrees ordered included the BBQ Sampler 2, Smoked Prime Rib, Ribeye, Catfish and Country Fried Steak. The BBQ Sampler 2 is appropriately named as it was either enough for 2 or it enough food for 2 meals. It came with pulled pork, 1/4 chicken, 4 bones of ribs and brisket. One person had their ribs Muddy and was well pleased with the balance between the dry and wet sauces. The smoked prime rib was awesome, great smoky flavor, tender and cooked exactly right. The Country Fried steak was excellent and could be cut with a fork. The real winner was the brisket! It was so tender you could flake it with your fork, was some of the most lean we 've ever seen and the taste was over the top. The wait staff was friendly, courteous and patient with us on all our orders. Our waitress kept our glasses and beer bucket full. We had 7 in our party, and were placed at a table for at least 11 people. We had plenty of room and did not feel like they were trying to squeeze as many people into a room as they could. Although the place was busy, it was quiet and we were able to carry on conversation while we enjoyed our meal Our only regret was that we had no room at all to try the banana pudding or coconut cake that looked so wonderful. Oh well, next time!
I would not subject myself to the treatment of the owner of this place ever again!!! Ordered medium-well fillet and told them it was ok to butterfly; instead got it got it rare, then medium-rare, then shriveled-up well-done (looked like it had been microwaved). I tried to be as understanding and as discrete as possible, even though the waiter recognized it was wrong each time he brought it and watched me cut it. And although I tried not to say much, he would encourage me to be honest. When they attempted to cook a second steak and it came back rare, I asked if they could at least get it to medium (because I gag on blood). It came back somewhere between medium-rare and medium. During the few seconds I silently debated on whether I could choke it down or not, the owner (who was setting a table behind us), suddenly raised his voice and started accusing me of not knowing what I was talking about and berating me. This was TOTALLY unprovoked and extremely rude. I was in shock (as were my guest and the others in the restaurant)! Nonetheless Fat Larry claimed the steak was medium-well (even after I raised it so he could see it wasn't) and continued to heckle and embarrass me. I tried to calmly explain that I did in fact know what medium-well was and that I'd had it there on my only previous visit. But the guy just wouldn't stop! The poor waiter kept whispering his apology and when Fat Larry continued to belittle me, I chose to ignore him and not argue, stood up, asked the waiter for a to-go box for my guest, stated calmly that I would pay for her meal only, that we were leaving and would not be back. I paid for the other meal, tipped the waiter for it (who was still apologizing profusely) and reiterated that I would not be back but would let others know of this mistreatment. I don't know how the guy stays in business because no meal is good enough to tolerate being verbally abused by the owner.
