Caroline's Seaside Cafe - United States

Food was really good, but we have to wait for almost 2 hours. No introduction of how we can order for togo.

It's one of my favorite places to take out of town guests! Park at La Jolla Shores, walk on the sand north towards Scripps Pier, and take the first set of stairs up to Caroline's. This time, I treated my amazing, great niece!!

Only if your idea of breakfast is waiting in line for 30 minutes to order at a stand up counter and then waiting another 30 minutes to receive a bagel and lox that you have to fully assemble, which includes spreading your own cream cheese.

Great view, mediocre food, overpriced, poor service. I only take the time for reviews if a place is excellent or really poor. I’ve been twice. Both times staff seemed confused, and look like they are unhappy/annoyed. The manager (maybe owner? both times looks like his staff so shouldn’t be a surprise why they look annoyed by customers. The avocado toast was delicious and enormous so well worth the matching price, but this time I got a chicken salad sandwich and it was the opposite: hardly anything between the bread but after their facial expressions both visits, I wasn’t going to ask for a proper amount of chicken salad. They did forget to give me an item which I went back for and was a real bother for them to correct, and the manager/owner couldn’t care less about the mistake (no apologies or smile or even acknowledged me only the cashier he was helping . I won’t be back, and I wouldn’t recommend it. Even their set up is confusing I see other customers wondering where the rest of an order is when some is delivered… certain items aren’t delivered, you have to go to a small pick up counter to get the rest. Not a biggie but based on the overpriced items and especially the attitudes, it’s not worth it. The same view is steps away, for free!

A bit expensive, but delicious food and amazing views.
