Contribuiți la feedbackI have been here since 1998 for my weekly dim sum survey. there was no need to wander to fremont or milpitas, for ds at all. dim sum is a separate culinary art that is mastered by very few, due to its laborious preparation. it is affordable and 100% authentic. the original owner of burmese was a nice guy who loved harleys. after many years success here, he sold it to a very claimed cougher lady, known for pulling fast on inattentive customers. today she saw me late (2). I was ignored for ten minutes while I dry out on stacked regale by old sui mai, over the small edible zone. After I finally realized that I was selling this old dimming sum, I left this once big hole in the wall quietly to never come back.
The owners are quite rude, even to repeat customers. If she thinks you're not going to order any extra food, she pushes you to buy more, even when there's only one person behind you in line. I'm sure other customers have noticed this too. It seems to be getting worse. While the Burmese food is delicious, it's overshadowed by the unpleasant attitude of the owners.
They have very good chicken stuff. they sell home cook burmese eat on Sunday, but they have to go there very early. if they go there at 10 o'clock, many dishes could be sold out. bäck is not as good as before. in the grasp of the dunes in I like tofu nway, twice fried tofu, shan noodles, fried garnel cake, burmese tee. I don't like mote mote hin kha (the fish sauce that it uses is very smelly) and rainbow noodles salat (like regular nudelsalat and again with this fish sauce). they should use the fish sauce they put in these.
One shop that caught my attention is called "Safe Donuts." They offer all the classic options you'd expect from a donut shop. I tried a few of their donuts, and they were decent. However, for those unfamiliar with the place, there’s much more to explore beyond the donut selection. If you pass the donut display at the front, you’ll notice a narrow corner leading to the back where they have a section dedicated to steamed dishes. If you go early, you'll find a variety of Chinese brunch items available. They serve steamed noodles, chicken feet, small ribs, and a range of fluffy and baked goods. I sampled some steamed shrimp rice rolls for $10 (6 rolls) and I would give them 4 stars. They were surprisingly good, still chewy, and the wrap wasn’t overcooked. The accompanying sauce was tasty and complemented the rolls nicely. Next, I tried the siu mai for $10 a dozen and rated them 4 stars as well. They were large and juicy with a distinct flavor and a sweet note, though the wrapper was slightly dense. I also had the har gow, priced at $10 a dozen, but I didn’t enjoy them much, giving them 2.5 stars. They lacked garnish and had a texture similar to shrimp mousse, which didn’t appeal to me. The spicy wontons were $10 for a generous dozen, and I would rate them 3 stars. They surprised me because the dough was overpoweringly chive-flavored, which I wasn't particularly fond of. If I had known, I would have chosen differently. The hot oil they were floating in had an unsettling taste that didn’t sit well with me; I usually prefer a red chili oil for some heat. The vinegar accompanying them was a bit much for my taste—I was hoping for something simpler. They also have a separate menu featuring Burmese dishes, but I’m not sure when those are available. I’m definitely interested in trying those out. It’s remarkable how many different offerings they manage to showcase in such a small space. I’m eager to continue exploring this hidden gem, which feels like a thrilling adventure waiting to unfold!
One of my favorite places in the world. I come here every morning for dim sum when I visit family in the Bay Area, a couple of times per year. The matriarch of this family business, Jennifer, remembers me every time. She remembers all of her customers and their orders, although I don’t order. I let her pick for me. It’s always delicious. The place is small, crowded, and bustling. There are only three small tables nestled among boxes of supplies (which just adds to the charm), so most of customers take their dim sum and donuts to go. It’s busy for a reason. Everything is authentic, fresh, and tasty. The family members running the place are friendly and welcoming. Five stars.
