Contribuiți la feedbackThis is based on take out The customer service was great and it’s a neat resort however the portion size and the flavor of the food was so so at best. Unfortunately there was a lot left to be desired and after spending $240 we were surprised. To be clear this also has nothing to do with temp or presentation of food since this is take out. The duck was pretty fatty making it hard to chew, the lettuce for the Caesar salad was wilted and pretty brown (actually surprised they sent this out with our food based on the professionalism of the restaurant), the chicken was super small and pretty dry. The creme brûlée was gritty and watery on the bottom. It had really good flavor but was definitely cooked incorrectly. The best tasting item was our kid’s filet dinner which was fantastic. Super disappointed as we’ve gone elsewhere and spent more for better portion size and incredible flavor. Maybe it was an off night but just not worth the cost if that’s the case
Y 'all. Here you are, in Union WA, unincorporated Mason County with population 700... how good can the food be? Having dined my way through NYC, SF, and Seattle (where I now live , and now as a father who has suffered all too many overpriced resort restaurants with my young children, I am here to attest that the Restaurant at Alderbrook is AWESOME, and stands head-and-shoulders above similar resort restaurants anywhere else. The seafood is as fresh as they come—this is real-deal farm-to-table (canal-to-table? —and Chef Sara Harvey does some amazing work crafting dishes that are beautifully balanced and that bring out the very best in her ingredients. Everything is super fresh, and the seafood is simply to die for. The restaurant is beautiful and classy, yet the vacationing clientele and the unpretentious service all allow you to enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly dining experience that is a perfect match to its parent resort. Be sure to book a dinner reservation here; and then, the following morning, drive up the highway to its sister outpost, Hook Fork (also featuring Chef Sara Harvey and owned by Alderbrook for a super casual and fun outdoor-only waterside dining experience that perfectly complements this one!
We are vegetarians and don’t eat meat so we had limited options on the menu. We ordered the beets salad and the forager pasta which was a cheese sauce pasta with mushroom and spinach. The beets salad was good and the cocktails were amazing. I would recommend the pear walnut daiquiri. The pasta was too oily and a bit heavy for us. But overall, the service was great. They split our dishes into two and served us since we were sharing which was amazing. They also let us sit even after the restaurant was closed and let us enjoy our meal at peace.
Service was excellent, which made me hesitant to leave a middling review. They seated us early, were very attentive, and divided our salad and entree for us since we were sharing. Alas the food was overpriced and uninteresting, and the smell of the bathrooms permeated the entrance and the front half of the dining area. As others noted, tip is automatically included at the end.
As mentioned in a review before: There is an automatic 20% gratuity added to your bill then they ask for an additional tip. No one tells you that, you need to read the fine print at the bottom of the menu. They should tell you that up front as most restaurants do.
