Good beers from clutch brewing but 3 stars due to the lack of food venders and the food vendors they have is subpar. Like most of hip ethnic food places in hip areas in the twin cities and Minnesota- ethnic food is subpar due to how bland it is -caters to the demographic that supports it. So any ethnic food- remember it's not going to have much flavor- you have been warned with all honesty and grace lol!
Everything in here is way way way too expensive for what you get in most cases. Not surprised the meatball place didn't last. 18 bucks for a meatball and some noodles? Only went there one time because i felt pressured to buy after waiting in line. Only good things here are 5 watt and clutch imo. Worth coming for those two places.
I love this place! In winter, it is a sanctuary from the snow with food and warmth . In summer it is a celebration of creativity and life! With live music indoors or enjoying the outdoor movies and music on the front lawn, this place carries the heart of St Paul! When you come in, warm up with a coffee from five watt or enjoy a beer from Clutch Brewery upstairs! Soak up the industrial feel of the room with some food from Pimento's (winner of Food Court Wars)! My favorite place to visit and continue to go back to it! While COVID has been hard on this amazing venue, I am so pleased to see it endure! It continues to be a regular spot for me!
After a full afternoon of attraction hopping, my friend and I decided to stop by Keg and Case to grab some food. Their dad had likened it to a similar market in Iowa and we figured it'd be a nice stop to peruse local makers and food stands. Unfortunately, despite it being early evening on a Friday, the booths were mostly closed. All the makers and shop keepers were gone with only the brewery and grilled cheese places remaining. We stopped briefly to sample some small batch salsa and to ogle the mushroom stand and bath bombs before stepping back out to the car to regroup. Seems like a pretty happenin' place if you want to grab a beer and hang on their patio, but that wasn't our scene. My friend does intend to return to check out the mushroom place and some of the other small wares vendors.
Keg Case Market is a gem in Saint Paul. Driving up, I felt like I was about to enter a medieval home or fortress, as the exterior boasts an industrial look. Once you get inside, the Market is sprinkled with food stands, as well as stalls selling different products from books to candles/ soaps, to clothes. Despite being quieter than I expected it to be for a Saturday and smaller than I expected it to be, it was lovely; very clean and organized! I noticed that they have a stage area which seems to be where performances are held on evenings when they have live music, comedy, and the like. The furniture is also very quirky, fun, and comfortable... in my walk-through, I noticed everything from purple velvet chairs to leather couches. Additionally, upstairs they have a brewery where customers can order and enjoy drinks. Keg Case Market a cute spot to spend a laid back weekend afternoon, or a lively evening for one of their performances. I hope to be back!
