La Violeta - Ulldemolins

Had a lovely menu of the day here today 16€ each for 3 courses and a drink) . Just happened upon it by chance as we were exploring the old town. After we had Google translated the Catalan menu I had mussels with Romecu sauce -served cold and open topped with the delicious piquant sauce) followed by delectable sardines and cold rice pudding with cinnamon ontop for desert, washed down with a beer. My husband had grilled veg, he wasn't keen but he is quite fussy and there was nothing else on the starters he would eat! Followed by cannelloni in a bechamel type sauce followed by crema Catalana which he pronounced to be delicious. Local life was going on all around, we were the only non locals which I always love) and the waiter was very patient with my attempts at spanish!

I have never in my life been treated so rudely in a restaurant. I will never understand what my family did to warrant that treatment, but I hope the scowling woman understands she ruined my daughter’s lunch on her 13th birthday. Avoid entirely. A hell.

Food not great, would not go here for food during lunch or diner. Service is great, really friendly. Location also really nice. So yes for olives and wine/beer, no for food

Es un milagro que aún existan lugares así (y más en una zona turistizada): buena comida, buen precio, buen ambiente y, sobre todo, un TRATO fantástico. Club de fans de Yasmin ya. Un placer volver a la esencia.

Solamente hemos estado almorzando, pero la tortilla, la amabilidad y que esté en una calle peatonal hace que valga la pena.
